Compared: 2010 Lincoln MKT Vs. Acura MDX - The Car Connection

The rudiments: A 300-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6 appliance coupled to a new six-sprint robot-like with whip shifters and sample all-at hustle

Charge: $44,000 and up

Provocation thriftiness: 16/21 mpg

Rating: 8.6 out of 10

The 2010 Acura MDX has plentifulness to advocate, from its big, aggressive V-6 apparatus and six-timeliness paddle-shifted ineluctable transferral to its "wonderful-handling" all-swivel goad system. The drivetrain has a lightness and quickness that's not matched in this type. The same holds true for handling--the MDX's method lifestyle is more carlike and makes it sense smaller than the MKT and others. Its saddened looks are highlighted by a stylish walnut pitch and ambient lighting this year. Rider range and cheer remains a in number selling score, along with five-lead sanctuary and a stature for self-assurance. The MDX's report system now indexes music and responds to reveal rudder, too.

However, the MDX's downsides--it's a bit smaller blanket, with an less reachable third-row headquarters--are paired with some unaccepted changes. Its dreamily Toyota RAV4-ish looks get a new grille that reminds editors of a fiasco opener. The compartment's decorate with lots of buttons that guidance lots of profound features like helmsmanship and dependability dominate. The MDX demands incentive unleaded gasoline and still lags behind in provocation conciseness. And the updates for 2010 have turned its steering unconnected and extraordinarily go down. A USB mooring for MP3 coupling is unavailable on the core exemplar, a dull-witted excluding for a mark that leverages a tech-pleasant metaphor.

TheCarConnection's Bottom Be on the take ? The 2010 Acura MDX has found ways to correct—though the new grille, steering give the impression, and USB/Bluetooth omissions are out of kind.

Do I really need to spend the extra money to buy premium gas for my car (Acura MDX and BMW 330ci)?

A gas station operator told me it is completely unnecessary to spend the extra money on premium gas for my Acura MDX. (The owner's manual specifies at least 91 octane.) I spoke to someone in the service department of my Acura dealer, and he also said it is not necessary to spend the extra money on premium.

Can I use regular gas without damaging the engine, for a vehicle whose manual specifies I should use 91 octane or higher?
Will performance be truly worse if I use regular gas rather than premium?
If premium gas makes a difference, can I gain the benefit from using it occasionally rather than every time I fill up? (If yes, how often should I use it.)

If spending the extra money on premium is unnecessary, this seems like a big scam. Why is it recommended?

Premium gas does nothing for normal cars with normal compression (almost all).

You "wrenchers" are not chemists.

I just bought my car, an 06 Acura MDX, and it already needs major work.... Cant they just give me another car?

They say that they can't give me a new car even though i bought it a week ago and it already needs major work.

I would think so. If you bugged the crap out of the salesman. When I got my car, the dealership was super worried about this customer satisfaction survey (It was from Chevrolet). They were very adamant about me giving them a chance to fix any problems before I filled this survey out. If I had told them that I wanted a new car, or I was going to fill out this survey with all bad remarks, I'm sure they would have given me another.

I would call them and demand they give me a new one. Threaten to not buy the car (I don't know if you can do this or not, but It just may work) If the salesman won't listen, ask to talk to his supervisor. Find out who owns the dealership and ask to speak with him directly. Tell them your frustrations. Tell them you're going to write an editorial to your local newspaper and tell everyone about your bad experience.

Fitting three car/booster seats in an Acura MDX...?

I have two kids now, one in a booster and the other in a convertible car seat, they are 3 and 4 years old. We're expecting our third baby at the end of the summer. I have committed to keeping my current car, an Acura MDX, and making it work. With the third row this should be no problem yet I still wake up in cold sweats wondering if I'm looney for trying to make this work!

Does anyone else out there have three (or more) kids in car/booster seats in an MDX? How do you have them configured? I've thought about having one in the far back and two in the middle (and keeping the 40% split down full-time for easy pass through to the back)...and now I'm considering putting the two older kids in the back and just having the baby in the middle seat by herself...

Any thoughts of what works or what doesn't would be fabulous!
Thanks!

put the big kids in the back and the baby in the middle, the older kids will keep each other company, and hopefully not wake up the baby. Plus, by keeping the middle seat open an adult can sit with the baby if it is needed.

how to remove acura mdx 01 car cd-radio?

The best thing for you to do is to pick up a factory service manual on your MDX. The factory service manual is made by Helm. They usually go for anywhere between $75 to $100 for a manual, but for that you get detailed answers from Acura on how to make repairs to your MDX including engine, transmission, electrical, interior, exterior repairs even removing your radio.

Is Acura MDX 07 a good car? how about Lexus R350 08 or Infiniti FX35 07?

I want to buy a car for my wife. I would like to get help from you.

MDX is a people mover. It's an SUV, through and through. It's not that I don't like it, but I'd just as soon get a Honda Pilot, as they're almost the same thing, minus a little chrome.

Lexus RX350 is fantastic. No third-row seat, but extremely comfortable, plush, and luxurious. It also has a lot of power in the 3.5 Liter. It would probably be my choice, as it has a lot of features and lux for the money.

Infiniti FX35 is also very good, with great acceleration, handling, and transmission, but the ride, visibility, cargo capacity and turning circle hamper it too much to be a great car, especially when you pay $40K for it.

Lexus would be my choice.
