The Audi A4 is a hedonism consolidated managerial car produced since 1994. The successor to the 80 series, the A4 is a mid-traverse recourse that holds its own in the clock of stony match, chiefly from the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C-Distinction. how do you change the battery in an Audi A4 car. Do you have to take it to a dealership?

Do you have to take it to a dealership or can you do it yourself. My batter is dead and I need any new one, I would just hate to have to pay big bucks to have the dealership do it. Any help would be appreciated.

Any Interstate Battery distributor will install for little or no money. They make very good batteries and will save you money over going to the Audi dealership.

You can also install your self, it is quite easy.

is it possible to convert a car (audi a4)with an automatic transmission to a manual transmission?

There is a 99 audi A4 2.8 quattro for sale for $8000, how ever my dad is good friends with the seller, and would sell it to us for 3.5K

the only thing is it's an auto, and i REALLY want a manual, so is there any way to swap an auto trans for a manual trans for under $4000, because thats how much i would save.

Well .. as a great man once said ... "Nothing is Impossible" .. If you can dream it ... you can do it ...

Keeping the money (3k-9k) ,,, time(2-6weeks) ...and the mechanic aside... ... It can be done.

Transmissions go for .. $1500-$4500 depending on condition, and where you buy it... plus the labour, which will be additional $1500-$4500, again depending on the kind of shop,

Now the only thing is that ... do you really wanna spend 3.5K on car you are getting for 3.5K in the first place .. ?

Since I don't wanna sound like a 60 year old man ... i wouldn't tell wether to do it or not .. ..

instead .,.. ask yourself this .. Will the 3.5k , you spend on the transmission, be worth the hastle .. when you can go ahead and get a manual anyways .. ??


P.S. A4s also have triptronic .. which is not the same .. but almost.

Which is a better car- Audi A4 or Volvo S 40 or Saab 9-3? Safety and mileage point of view.?

planning on buying Audi A4 either 2005 or 2006 model. with reasonable mileage.
1) how is the mileage for 2 wheel drive A4 1.8 t. ?

all three are very safe. Audi A4 and Saab 9-3 both get top safety picks. while the S40 is very safe it is not on the top pick list. as for mileage the A4 gets the best but only by a mile or two highway. The A4 is far superior in build quality and driving dynamics to the Volvo and Saab. The Audi actualy has the losest depreciation of the three cars and the lowest Operating Cost ("out of pocket" costs, Financing, Insurance, Taxes & Fees, Fuel, Maintenance, and Repairs). the saab has an extreemly hig depreciation rate (it tops the chart) while the volvo is average and the Audi is well below average depreciation. Being that you are buying used the high depreciation may actually favor the Saab as you will taking advantage of someone elses depreciation but keep in mind it will continue to depreciate quickly, if you were buying new the Saabs depreciation is so much worse than the Audi's it would be enough to take the car right out of your consideration set.

If you go with a 1.8T form 2004 or earlier the gas mileage is about the same as the saabs while th e 2.0T gets slightly better.

In this compairison i would go with the Audi its safest has the best gas mileage cheapest operating cost and lowest depreciation. plus the AUdi compairs with the MB c class and the BMW 3 series both in build quality and driving dynamics while the Volvo and saab rest happily at the back of the pack in just about every compairison (although the volvo does come at a ceaper price)

Oil sign has appeared: Audi a4: Car Smelling. What is this?

I got an Audi a4 courtesy car, It was delivered with an oil symbol saying 'Min'. In the two days I've had it I have driven 150 miles. It is now starting to smell. Is this the Oil being low? How many miles have I left before something major happen? Should I call the franchise where the car's come from? Am I covered on their breakdown etc... Thanks

Your oil symbol should be more than minimum but it doesn't have to be a problem right away.
What does it smell like?
Could be the catalyst, if you have one, that smells awful

I am thinking of buying a 2000 Audi A4 quatro. Car looks clean problem is that it has 106K mi, any thought?

I am looking to replace my old car (I have a 95 nissan altima which runs fine is starting to give me troub). I have seen a 2000 Audi A4 quatro which looks really good and the price is good too. However, the car has 106K miles and I am afraid of the maintenace costs. Does anyone have any info about the reliablity of these A4's or any (rough) estimate of the repair costs?

Try edmunds.com German car parts are expensive compared to domestic and Japanese cars. However audi makes a very reliable car. 106k should be fine.For a 2000 it sounds like mostly highway miles which is better.
