Chrysler abandons lifetime powertrain warranty

Chrysler has dropped its sacrifice of a lifetime powertrain guarantee program, which is non-transferable, and is in preference to effective for a more reactionary five-year/100,000 mile aim that’s fully transferable from one P to the next. In 2007, the lifetime guarantee program was met with much hodgepodge since the undertaking only applies to the primary proprietress.

Once the conduit is sold, the assurance reverted to a ideal three-year/36,000 mile layout. The new commitment will reportedly layer all Chrysler, Dodge (except the Sprinter van) and Jeep models and extends to the elaborate-fulfilment SRT models, agile sales and the Old Bill cruisers as well – vehicles the old lifetime program didn’t cross.

How many Dodge autos & Jeeps are built in Germany?

The Dodge Sprinter van, same as the Freightliner, is built in Germany. It is partally disassembled, rear axel, engine/trans and front suspension, then reassembled in South Carolina to keep from paying duty.

Do they do the same thing with some of those goofy looking cars and jeeps that have come on the market in the last couple years?
I realize that the Sprinter vans are built by Mercedes, in Germany and reassembled in South Carolina. I have visited the Freightliner plant in Gaffney, where this used to be done.

No matter what you do to these vans, changing grills & taillights, it's titled as either a Freightliner or Dodge.

The reason for this question was: many new models of Jeeps and Dodges arrived on the market with variations in design from what had been offered in the past.

Are these variations due to being built in Germany or just German design. All this should change now that ownership has changed, hopefully for the better.

Since the Saturn Aura originated in Germany as an Opel and many other GM automobiles have originated overseas as something else, American manufacturers are also importing foreign automobiles.

I would look very carefully at some Dodge models. One in paticular is the Avenger.

Many of the new Jeep models are suspect also. It may just be a coincedence that a few Jeep models also look like a few German models that are exported around the world.
