ford edge good car for first car?

I'm thinking of getting the ford edge for my first car.
I'm a girl and I'm about 15 going on 16 soon!.
I won't probs get it till about the end of this year or early next year.
But I want to know if anyone who has it if you can tell me what you think about it and if it's a good first car.
If not do you recommend any thing?
I don't care about the price.
My dad can get it for me.

righ now the problems is with gas so if thats the car u want and dont care how much u pay a week then thats fine

Which car is safer - Ford Explorer or Ford Edge?

I'm about to change car and Ford refuses to answer which car is the safest - Ford Explorer or Ford Edge.

As we know, Ford Explorer has a really lousy track record. Easily rolls over, poor performance if driven into from the back and quite a large car which makes the car more accident prone. What about the Edge - it weights less, but has better crash test results. Anyone have any interesting insights?

The Edge handles better than the truck-based Explorer while offering almost as much cargo space. Benefiting from all-wheel drive and a fully independent suspension, it's easier to control than a truck-based SUV in the snow or on wet, slippery roads. Also, getting in and out of both the front and back seats is easier. In fact, the back seats in the Edge are roomier than those in the Explorer, a benefit of its design.
