My boy friend and I are car shopping and we were looking at the Honda fit. Is it a good car? Does it get good gas mileage? How about safety? And is it really fun to drive? If you went to a car dealership, what is the most you would pay - monthly and car price and down payment for the Honda fit? Maximum! What would you pay? What would you NOT go over?

Do you have any suggestions for a first car? Maybe a Honda Fit?
I'm a 16 year old girl and will be getting my first car soon. I'm looking for something under $15,000 if possible, new or used is okay with me. I'm not really crazy about the sedan style, which limits my options. I do like hatchbacks though. Good gas mileage is important and so is safety.
I've been looking at the Honda Fit and it seems great for me, but I also want to consider other options. If anyone has a Fit, I'd love to hear about it.

The Mazda 3 is a great car. I have one and I love it. I personaly don't like the hatchback look but the 3 is made in a hatchback model. If you get the basic model, without alloy wheels power windows and locks, you can get one new for around $15,000 though the best thing to do is get one a year or two old. Other than that any honda would be perfect you. Like a used civic which comes in hatchback as well I believe. Definately stick with an import and specifically Japanese like Honda, Nissan or Mazda. They are more known for reliabitlity and value in that lower price range.
