is there a certain gear to drive in a honda ridgeline when towing a car?
Read your owners manual.
Some vehicles have a tow/haul mode that lets the transmission select the right gears for whatever you're pulling.

What car dealers in Pheonix will buy my 2006 Honda Ridgeline TODAY without making me trade it in on a car?
My friend in Pheonix husband died and they have a 2006 Ridgeline that he used to drive with a clear title and about 8000 miles. They don't want to deal with placing ads in papers or online and taking calls and waiting to sell it. Is there someplace they can drive to today and sell it for cash? They live near Chandler. Thanks!
Yeah, I know they will get more selling it to a private party, but they want to sell it QUICK with NO hassles. THey don't mind taking a hit on the price.
Thanks Jason- Thats the kind of place we're looking for!
CarMax will give you cash. Not much, but they'll give you some.

Can a Honda Ridgeline tow a Ford Explorer with a Uhaul car dolly?
I have a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. It has a Class III Honda hitch. I want to tow our 1997 Ford Explorer and went to the Uhaul website to see how much a car dolly would cost. It said that the Ridgeline does not weigh enough to tow the Explorer. Honda touts it's 5000 lb towing capacity and 1500 pound total payload capacity. I don't know how much the Explorer weighs (it is a 4dr), but it seems like the truck should be able to pull it.
Thank you to the first answer. I appreciate it. To the second person...$!#@ off!! 1) Sorry, if I didn't know that the weight is on the door. Guess now I know, but was it really necessary to add "lol" like I'm some kind of idiot. 2) Jealous? My Ridgeline might not be a "truck", but at least it's better than your dad's old redneck-man truck with a confederate sticker. Lol?
Oh yeah, and BTW, my Explorer is not broken down...we are moving and we like to take care of our things. That is why the Explorer only has 94K miles on it and it is a 1997!
Wow, those are great suggestions. I had not considered towing the Ridgeline. We've never done any towing, it just seemed to come in handy that the Ridgeline had a hitch, the Explorer does not have one. But it might be worth it to get one installed. I will be towing 2 children so I want to be safe. I don't know what an external transmission cooler is, but I am looking into it. Thanks for all the suggestions. Boy, the Ridgeline is not well liked in the truck community, huh?
A couple of things, U-Haul will not allow an Explorer to tow anything. Its their policy, a very stupid policy in my opinion. Another thing is that the explorer is a rear wheel drive, and with a tow dolly you run the risk of damaging the transmission. If you go to a dealer and tell them the towing combination, most likely they will tell you no. I'm sorry, just telling you what most likely will happen.
