How would I trade in my 2006 Jeep Commander for another car?

I have a 2006 Jeep Commander and I want to trade it in. It sucks on gas and I really want a different car. I'm only 18 and I'm tryin to pay for college, and the car is taking all my money. I want to trade it in for a another car, maybe a used car at the dealership. How much would this cost me? What would I have to do?

When you go to dealership the finance person will call the institute where the loan for your jeep is from. They will get a payoff amount, this is the amount of dollars needed to end your loan and consider the car "paid". When you find a car you want they will talk about trade-in value, it wont be as many dollars as the payoff, the left over is called negative equity and that is added to your new car's purchase price.

So for example, Your payoff on jeep is $9000, and they offer $5000 on trade and the car your looking at is $10000, then the $4000 left over on the jeep will get added to your new loan and that $10000 car just became $14000 that you need to finance

Is there room to negotiate the use car price of a Jeep Commander?

What % is good to offer below the sticker price of a Jeep Commander (2007 with 14k miles) at the Jeep dealership? Where should it end up? Let's say the sticker price is $23,000.00.
It's certified used, in excellent condition, with upgrade to leather, sunroof, and 6 cd changer.

im thinking about converting my 2008 jeep commander into a veggie car?

any suggestions? i dont know whether i should or not. It gets about 18 mpg and with these prices i cant afford that. i am only in highschool. Would making it run on veggetable waste hurt how an SUV runs? has anyone had their SUV turned into a veggie car? how much does it cost? how is it getting fuel from restaurants? how does it affect the way your car/SUV runs?

It won't work unless it's a diesel - which isn't clear in your question. Then the access to available veg oils on a regular basis will become the issue, after that, getting good quality ones you don't have to spend more money on to filter and clean up before using. Gettting a reliable source of oil that isn't already committed to some other owner, or a recycler, is the real issue. Most chain restaurants are already committed to a contract for pickup on demand - which the public can't always satisfy - and have little say in the matter.

The very few able to do this will dry up most sources pretty quickly in metro areas.

18mpg isn't bad for a Jeep - but face it, it's an aerodynamic disaster. The Commander isn't known as a lightweight either. Better fuel mileage will only come from cars weighing under 2500 pounds with engines under 3 liters, precisely what the American public has shunned for the last twenty years.
