2009 mazda 6 as a first car? mazda6 reviews?

should i get the 2009 mazda6 as my first car. i have to find a way to convince my parents. what are the safety ratings. does it have good mpg? has anyone driven it yet?

The 09 Mazda 6 has tons of safety features that are standard such as:

8 airbags, traction control, stability control, abs, 4 wheel disc brakes, tire pressure monitoring system, and an available blind spot monitoring system. With the 4cyl engine, it shows 30mpg on the highway, but you will most likely get 32-35mpg on the highway. I have driven many of them as I sell them. It is a great car, and very fun to drive. Huge back seat and huge trunk. It has a tech savy driver focused cockpit as well.

Mazda car dealership service department trouble. Can you help me? Lawyers? Dealers?

Our Mazda dealer damaged three panels on our center console of our brand new Mazda6 in May 2006, while installing a factory stereo.

Took it in 4 times, leaving it all day each time. Was told the vinyl guy was unavailable each time.

Yesterday, the 5th time, they "fixed" it.At home, I took a closer look and realized that the "repair" comprised some apparent sandpaper-like smoothing of the gouged up areas, no change whatsoever in the cracked console, and what appeared to be a new scratch on the plastic running parallel to the area that had been smoothed out.

The service manager now says "It's unfixable." They can't (won't) replace the parts because they'd have to replace the entire dashboard. He offered to try to "compensate" us for what we thought the damage had done to our car's value.

Ten weeks ago the car was brand new. Then the dealership jacked it up.

What would you do?

Mazda Corporate for the win. They will not tolerate b/s such as this, and are usually quite prompt in their action. Simply WRITE a letter to them explaining everything clearly and concisely, a timeline may help the situation as well. Calling will only do so much, but an actual letter emailed to them seems to make things move a bit quicker. Before doing this, you pretty much have to threaten the dealership that you will contact Mazda Corporate IMMEDIATELY about this incident (Mazda gives breaks to dealerships with little problems and good reviews read: sell 3 cars get a 4th free etc) This may motivate their ass a bit more to take care of you, but if not simply go to the top to get it taken care of.

I am a college student wondering how much $ I should save up b/f seriously considering to buy a brand new car?

The car I am considering is the Mazda Mazda6 and the model I've selected is the grand touring s, which is about $27,000, but since I am planning to buy after I graduate, I'll probably be buying the 2008 model which is probably gonna cost more because mazda is improving it. My expectations would be around $30,000. So anyway, with good credit, how much money should I save up b/f really considering this buy a possibility. I would appreciate any feedback, thank you!

How much you want to put down depends a lot on what you can afford, payment wise. For example, a $30,000 loan, with intrest rates around where they are today, will run you somewhere in the neighborhood of $550.00 a month (give or take a little either way). I've always figured that my payment would be $15 to $20 for every thousend that I spend. With this in mind, you can get a ROUGH estimate of your payment. When you decide how much of a payment you want per month, you can estimate how much you need to finance to hit your target. Then just subtract the amount your going finance from the amount of the car and that will tell you how much of a down payment you will need. If you have good credit and a steady job, you may not be required to put anything down at all.
