The buttons on Nissan Altima car stereo won't work. How to fix them?
2001 Nissan Altima GXE, it has the original plain stock cd/radio stereo. A couple of weeks ago the display stopped working, everything else worked fine. Now just a couple of days ago all the buttons on the stereo stopped working. The only buttons that work are the on/off button and the rew/FF buttons that only rewind or fast forward through the actual song on the CD. The on/off button only works if I push it in REALLY hard. The stereo will still play CDs if I put in a CD, but it can't switch the tracks that play, it can only FF through them. For some unknown reason, the only way I can change the volume is if I press the "seek down" button and the "cd" button simulteaneously with all my strength and turn the volume knob. It's funny, I know. I have no idea what's going on. I don't want to buy a new stereo. What can I do to fix this problem? It's really pissing me off.
I would start by canning the Nissan. Then for your new car or truck i would buy a high end JVC cd player. I've had mine for 5 years and its been through 2 accidents, 3 trucks, my wild teen years, and plenty of mud and booze cruising.
Or you could just take it to the shop, but i like my first idea better.

nissan altima car issues?
I have a 96 nissan altima that decided to just not start one day after many days of overheating, well now if i charge the battery fully and then try to start it, it starts but takes a while then the battery runs down and i have to charge it again and then it will start and run for a while but does the same thing.....some people have told me that the motor is gone, some say a blown or craked head, some say i need a new distributor cap, and some say i need a new battery....what does this sound like im a college student and need a reliable car.
Thats kinda funny i have a 93 chevy corsica that did the same thing i replaced the battery and it has ran fine since, but if your battery was good before you began having this problem then if you can take your battery/altinator to a local parts place (autozone, Shucks, kracker etc.) alot do free testing from there check for head problems if you overheated it several times there could be a possibility of cracked head, blown head gasket .. one thing for sure the engine is probably fine unless it has a cracked block.

whats a better car nissan altima or a honda accord?
looking to get a car about 2 years old. Does anyone have ALOT of problems engines, eletric problem etc. And how is gas mileage
Honda accord much better car,a little more expense than altima,but will last a lot longer and less repairs,about same gas mileage,hope that helps.
